Cemetery watchman sets up hidden camera and falls asleep
The man woke up to the phone’s beeping, struggling to realize it was the sensor. “God, what could’ve happened at the cemetery?” Sergey exclaimed and froze in horror the next second. Through the camera, he saw a girl standing by one of the graves, her silhouette clearly illuminated by moonlight.
His hands and feet went cold; he knew for sure there were no people at the cemetery at this hour. “So, it’s a dead person,” Sergey whispered silently. He was never superstitious, but now he was genuinely scared.
Suddenly, a moment later, the girl sharply turned and looked directly into the camera. Her gaze sent Sergey into a cold sweat. Barely feeling his legs, he rushed to the grave where the stranger stood.
A few seconds later, Sergey arrived at the spot, but the girl was gone. He felt uneasy and, to distract himself from troubling thoughts, began examining the photo on the tombstone. The picture showed a young, smiling girl.
Suddenly, something clicked in Sergey’s mind, and he realized the girl in the photo and the one standing by the grave were the same person. “So,” the man thought, “no, she couldn’t have crawled out of the grave, that doesn’t happen, what nonsense, it’s foolish to even think about it.” Sergey tried to calm himself.
But it wasn’t that simple: he was shaking with fear and already cursing himself for taking this job. Returning to his small room, he checked the camera: everything was fine. And then it hit him.
“I fell asleep, my God, it was probably just a dream, how foolish I am.” Sergey felt relieved and decided to drink a cup of coffee to perk up and pull himself together. Sleep was gone as if by magic.
Just as he was about to bring the cup to his lips, there was a knock at his room’s door. Sergey darted around the tiny space like a chained dog, unsure what to do. A swarm of thoughts raced chaotically through his head.
“What a nightmare! No, it wasn’t a dream. If this keeps up, I won’t make it till morning, my heart will just seize up from fear and give out. Come on, you’re a man, pull yourself together.”..
