A poor boy shouted, “Don’t eat that!” The millionaire wouldn’t have listened if he hadn’t seen it himself…

His heart pounded as he stepped back from the window. What could he do? The Gilded Grain wouldn’t let him in—his torn jacket, dirty sneakers, and unwashed face marked him instantly. He’d tried sneaking into restaurants for scraps before, only to be chased out or threatened with police. But something inside him overpowered his fear. “Oh my God, what nonsense! Who let this kid in? He’s probably homeless, maybe on something!” she said, rolling her eyes dramatically.

“I saw it!” Jake insisted, struggling against the waiter’s grip. “She had a capsule, a small one, and she poured it into the soup!”

Diners began whispering. Someone pulled out a phone to record. The waiter, still holding Jake, signaled for the manager. William set his phone down and studied Emily. For a fleeting moment, her composure cracked, but she quickly regained control.

“William, this is absurd! Clearly, the kid wants money or attention. Look at him!” she said, gesturing toward Jake.

William silently shifted his gaze to the bowl of soup, then back to his wife.

“Bring a fresh bowl from the same batch,” he said calmly to the waiter. “And call security. But no one leaves. Not him,” he nodded toward Jake, “and not my wife.”

Emily paled. Jake stood trembling with adrenaline but held his gaze steady. He didn’t know if he’d saved someone or gotten himself in trouble, but he felt he’d done the right thing…
